How to Choose the Right Sliding Door Wardrobe for Your Bedroom
A sliding door wardrobe is one of the easiest ways to add serious storage to a bedroom without eating into floor space — but with so many sizes, finishes and door options out there, it's easy to feel stuck picking the right one. Here's what actually matters when you're choosing.
1. Measure your space before anything else
Sliding door wardrobes come in a range of widths, typically from 100cm up to 250cm or more. Measure the full wall you're working with, and leave a little breathing room on either side. Also check ceiling height — most wardrobes sit around 216cm tall, so make sure your room can comfortably fit that.
2. Decide between 2 doors or 3 doors
Smaller wardrobes (100cm–150cm) usually come with 2 sliding doors, while wider options (180cm and up) often offer a 3-door layout. More doors generally means smoother, lighter sliding and easier access to the full width of the wardrobe without one door blocking another.
3. Think about mirrors
A mirrored door front does two jobs at once: it gives you a full-length mirror without buying one separately, and it visually opens up a smaller room by reflecting light. If your bedroom is on the smaller side, a mirrored wardrobe like our Milan or Lyon is worth prioritising.
4. Match the finish to your room
Matt finishes (black, white, grey, oak) suit most modern bedrooms and are easy to keep looking clean. If you want something with more presence, a high gloss finish like our Florence wardrobe — which also includes built-in LED lighting — makes a strong style statement.
5. Check what's inside
Not all wardrobes are laid out the same way. Look for a mix of hanging rails, shelves and drawers so you can actually organise what goes in it, rather than just having one big open space. Most of our wardrobes include all three, giving you room for hanging clothes, folded items, and smaller accessories in one unit.
6. Consider assembly
Some of our wardrobes offer an optional 'assembly required' add-on at checkout if you'd rather not build it yourself — worth factoring into your decision if you're short on time or tools.
